MinnKota EnviroServices Inc./MinnKota Recycling receives 2016 Leadership Award

The North Dakota Solid Waste and Recycling Association (NDSWRA), a non-profit organization that works to educate, train and promote environmentally sound waste management practices, is proud to announce that MinnKota Recycling (MinnKota) is its 2016 Leadership Award winner. The award was presented at the 2016 NDSWRA Joint Symposium in Deadwood, SD where over 400 solid waste professionals from North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana were in attendance.

The Leadership Award recognizes businesses, individuals and organizations who work toward protection of our environment by their efforts in solid waste management, recycling, renewable energy process programs and creating jobs involving recyclables. 

MinnKota is a locally owned company based in Fargo, North Dakota and has been providing recycling services to the area since 1975. Currently, at its Fargo, ND facility, MinnKota processes approximately 465 tons of sorted material weekly. This includes commercial, drop site and curbside recyclable material. MinnKota has the capacity to process 700 tons per week and over the past five years MinnKota has processed and sold a total of 144,332 tons of recycled material. It also sells recyclable materials to two local companies in an effort to keep those businesses, employees and related dollars in the area.

In order to keep up with customer desires, MinnKota has recently made investments to its facility and equipment to handle single stream recycling for the cities of Fargo, ND and Moorhead, MN expected to begin in 2017.
